2814 - 新しい日の誕生/Birth of a New Day (2015) and Rain Temple (2016)
10/10
Both good vaporwave/atmospheric albums, have a dissassociating feel to them but in a good way. Good to zone out to.
Birth of a New Day feels more dissassociative to me, some songs off Rain Temple go on a little too long.

Airospace - AZALEA (2021) and YOU'RE A LIAR AND YOU SUCK WHO WOULD LOVE YOU? (2022)
8/10
Azalea is easier to get into than the latter I feel, the wordplay flows well and sounds almost melancholic, the beats are picked well and matches the style going in it.The other album is more on the rough side of rap/hip hop but it's done well. It sounds a bit more polished and it's a departure from his style when he was in EXOCIETY.

Arca - Xen (2014), Mutant (2015), KiCk i (2020)
9/10
Solid albums esp. the first 2. Xen is a good starter since she's experimental. Also ahead of her time I feel.
Mutant is more experimental though and might be harder to get into, more abstract than Xen.KiCk is more mainstream as a whole but the first one in the series is a good pick for the KiCk series as a whole (there's 5)

Bjork - Homogenic (1997), Vespertine (2001), Medulla (2004)
10/10
Homogenic has a general theme to it and is a good delve into her more artsy stuff. Some of the songs are hit or miss for me though but there's a few that I put on repeat.
Vespertine was the first album I heard by her so it ranks higher than the rest but it's more orchestral and icy feeling which was the idea originally. Solid album.Medulla is more experimental than the rest but that's why I enjoy it alot, it's a weird album but in a good way.

Danny Brown - Atrocity Expedition (2016)
8/10
All 3 of the albums i've heard from Danny are good (uknowhatimsayin? and XXX), but Atrocity Expedition shows his style the best though it was at his peak of addiction if I remember right. The album is cohesive and has good flow to it.

Death Grips - The Money Store (2012), Government Plates (2013), Bottomless Pit (2016)
9/10
All solid albums to show off Death Grip's experimentalist style. The Money Store is a good starter since it's not AS experimental but still has it's good charm.
Government Plates is the most experimental of the 3, more techno involved and not as brash sounding.Bottomless Pit mixes the two in terms of being experimental and raw, but still polished and listenable.

Death's Dynamic Shroud - I'll Try Living Like This (2015), CLASSROOM SEXXTAPE (2016), (Heavy Black Heart (2017), After Angel (2023), You Like Music (2024)
9/10
A pinnacle in experimental vaporwave. ITLLT is a constant repeat for me, and shows off their older style the best next to HBH, they're both well rounded albums even if some parts are repetative.
CLASSROOM SEXXTAPE is a bit of an outlier, it shows off a more innocent nature but also somehow relates to teenagers and the internet with some sort of storytelling to it. It gives off an atmosphere of innocence. After Angel is a good show of their current style, and how they've now incorporated more lyrics into their albums as well as using media to their advantage. You Like Music is very fast paced, while still keeping a similar style to their usual albums, hard to describe it, just gotta listen to it!

Deftones - ALL OF THEIR ALBUMS!
9/10
Hard to pick a good album from Deftones, though I didn't enjoy Gore or Ohms too much. The rest are solid albums.

Depeche Mode - Violator (1990)
8/10
Solid album, has that dark gothic feel in a way to it. A bit different from their other top albums. Makes me feel things.

eevee - Unexpected (2016), seeds (2017)
10/10
Pinnacle of lo-fi beats, super memorable for me always. Easy to listen to.

EXOCIETY - Deception Falls (2022), SHIFT! (2023)
9/10
Shows off EXOCIETY as a whole's style, I'd see them almost like a sampler.
Deception Falls feels more polished and has a melancholic feel for most of the songs, but it's still a vibe.SHIFT! Is made after Airospace's departure and introduction of meltycanon, no1important, and love-sadKID, so you get to see how all of them work into it. It feels like more of a fun album and shows off everyone's different styles and how they mesh.

Joji - BALLADS 1 (2018)
8/10
A nostalgic favorite for me tbh. Has his older lo-fi style to it for most of the songs and keeps it throughout. Some songs kinda fell flat or the beat drowns out his voice more but the overall album is good and has that sad vibe to it.

Julius Eastman - Femenine (1974)
8/10
Experimental/minimalist classical music, it's one long 72 minute song. In a way it's experimental especially for the time but it's also minimal at the same time. Over the course of the song it does build up and gives off a melancholic vibe, maybe a little feminine as the title suggests. Hard to describe without just saying to just go listen to it.

Kawfee - Heartburn (2016)
9/10
Another classic lo-fi album. It's a little minimal and muffled but it's another nostalgic one for me. The entire album is solid and easy to chill to.

Kero Kero Bonito - Intro Bonito (2013), Time 'n' Place (2018)
8/10
Intro Bonito shows off KKB's inital JPop style, without taking itself too seriously. Also has alot of references and incorporates Japanese lyrics as usual.
Time n Place is different from their debut, and goes more experimental/rock-like. It has a more melancholic vibe to it and relates more to growing up in some songs.

Kill Bill The Rapper - RAMONA (2014), FULLMETAL KAIJU (2023), KEEP THE CHANGE! (2024)
10/10
All of KB's albums are solid but these 3 show it off best.
RAMONA will always be a favorite of mine, it has a sad boy vibe but not so depressingly sad that it sounds like Lil Peep. He experiments in some songs but still keeps a signature style.
FM KAIJU gives off a less melancholic vibe but still keeps to his usual style, still making the beats sound fresh and works well with his voice.KEEP THE CHANGE is also solid but shows off more dangers of the internet and stan culture in some songs, but has a more well thought out style with some songs, none of them feel underproduced or lacking which is good.

King Krule - The Ooz (2017), Man Alive! (2020)
10/10
Both solid albums with themes of sadness and melancholy.
The Ooz is more nostalgic for me, has a more lo-fi vibe to it. Most of the songs have a solid theme to them and it all flows well together. Man Alive is more harsh and open while still keeping the melancholic lo-fi vibes to it.

Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence (2014)
9/10
All of her albums are pretty solid, with some hit or misses but this one is the most well rounded. It has a central sad-girl theme to it without too many songs that differ from it. It's sad but it still feels like there's some soul and beat to it.

Mac Demarco - 2 (2012), Salad Days (2014), Another One (2015)
9/10
All good albums without a super general theme. 2 has more of a lo-fi vibe to it. Salad Days feels more produced and rounded. Another One is similar to 2 but a little less.

Mac Miller - Faces (2014), GO:OD AM (2015), Swimming (2018)
9/10
Faces is a good beattape to show off his style the most imo. Still has an underground vibe to it.
GO:OD AM is more mainstream but still has some of his usual style in it. Swimming is similar to the last, but more melancholic and has a story flow to it.

Machine Girl - WLFGRL (2014), Gemini (2015), BECAUSE IM YOUNG ARROGANT AND HATE EVERYTHING YOU STAND FOR (2017), The Ugly Art (2018)
8/10
WLFGRL is a solid show of MG's style, second to Gemini. Atleast for their earlier works. Just some breakbeat experimental type-stuff.
The 2017 album and The Ugly Art show off more of a raw and agressive style, more in the punk range of electronic. Both solid in terms of that.

Madison Acid and TV Girl - Maddie Acid's Purple Hearts Club Band (2018)
9/10
Not-too serious album. Has TV Girl's style mixed with Madison's rapping style makes it feel fresh.

Nanoray - ZAPPER (2021)
8/10
Solid electronic/breakcore album. Feels like nothing is left out and has a lighthearted anime vibe to it almost.

no1important - There's No I (2022)
8/10
Solid album with good wordplay on it. Has a general theme to it and has good picks for beats.

The Offline - La couler de la mer (2023)
9/10
Good instrumental album. Almost sounds like a soundtrack in a positive way. All of the songs flow together well, easy to listen to.

Oneohtrix Point Never - Replica (2011)
8/10
Experimental vibes. Vaporwave-like before it became a thing in terms of sampling styles. Hard to describe.

optic core - shell complex (2021)
Good atmospheric breakbeat album. Has fluffy anime vibes to it.

The Prodigy - Music For The Jilted Generation (1994), The Fat of The Land (1997)
9/10
Solid techno album, a staple in music. 90's vibes all around.
Fat of The Land is also similar but I know its more commercial than the latter, but it's still a solid choice for techno.

Puma Blue - Swum Baby (2017), Blood Loss (2018)
9/10
Both good lo-fi melancholic mood. They're both similar but have that lovey vibe and sad vibe at the same time.

Radiohead - OK Computer (1997), Kid A (2001), In Rainbows (2007)
10/10
OK Computer is my favorite, a constant play. It is super depressing and melancholic though but it's also ahead of its time.
Kid A is abstract and more instrumental based, but still gives off darker vibes. In Rainbows was considered more experimental and pop-focused than the previous albums, but it still has their style.

Rav - Beneath The Toxic Jungle (2015), LEAP (2023)
9/10
BTTJ is on par with RAMONA (Kill Bill), and has lo-fi vibes but still keeps it fresh in a way.
LEAP is just as good but has a more polished feel to it. It does have a more sad melancholic vibe.

SAINT PEPSI - Hit Vibes (2013)
9/10
Solid vaporwave/vaporfunk(?) album. Mostly americana focused and keeps the genre feeling fresh.

Scuare - Phenomenal (2021), Slippery People (2022)
9/10
Phenomenal's whole album is solid and flows well, the beats fit well with Scuare's style and word choices.
Slippery People is similar to the last, and still has his usual style (he also sounds good in person!)

Sewerslvt - Draining Love Story (2020), The World Is Fvcked (2020), Skitzofrenia Simulation (2021)
9/10
All solid albums, Draining Love Story is the easiest to listen to for first-timers since it stays more to the breakcore genre.
The World is Fvcked is more rough and harsh sounding, giving off a more crazy vibe.Skitzofrenia Simulation is more melancholic feeling but still agressively experimental feeling.

SOPHIE - OIL OF EVERY PEARLS UN-INSIDES (2018)
8/10
Good pioneer of hyperpop-experimentalism. Some songs feel a little lacking, but it was still enjoyable.

Starlit - A Thousand Things I Could Tell You (2020)
9/10
Solid atmospheric breakcore album. Feels fluttery in a good way. Easy to listen to without it being too complicated.

TV Girl - French Exit (2014), Who Really Cares (2016)
10/10
Solid albums, French Exit seems more like a less polished version of Who Really cares. They're both good and are equally as enjoyable.
The themes are similar and easy to vibe to, plus its very lovey without taking itself too seriously, while still being a little poetic.Song Picks: Birds Don't Sing, Lovers Rock, Cigarettes Out The Window, Not Allowed

Tyler The Creator - Flower Boy (2017), IGOR (2019)
9/10
Flower Boy is a more vibe focused album, with good beats and is a good reminder of the summer time. The whole album flows well and has a solid track listing. IGOR is similar and has a good story flow.

Viagra Boys - Street Worms (2018), Welfare Jazz (2021), Cave World (2022)
10/10
Street Worms is a more underground vibe compared to the other two, but has a solid list.
Welfare Jazz feels a little lacking compared to the previous but still keeps the same unserious vibes that VB has.Cave World feels more fleshed out and produced well. It has easy to follow lyrics that dont take themselves too seriously but still has interesting topics.

Weyes Blood - Titanic Rising (2019)
8/10
More folk-pop based, but also is orchestral and has a moody vibe to it.
